Selcuk University was established in 1971 in the Turkish city of Konya under Parliamentary Law No. 1418 under the name Konya Academy of Architecture. On 11 April 1975 AD, Under Law No. 1873 approved by Parliament, Konya Academy of Architecture was transformed into Selcuk Educational University. Selcuk University started with two faculties, It is the College of Arts and the College of Basic Sciences. 7 departments and 327 academics. Now it has 11 colleges, more than 40 departments, more than 70,000 students, and one of the largest large government laboratories and libraries.
