The university was established in 2006, and it is one of the newly established universities. The university is located on the (Ankara – Izmir) international road and is 8 km away from the city center. It includes 4 faculties and 4 vocational institutes from Afyon Kocatape University, and its first president, Professor Adnan, was appointed Şişman by Mr. Ahmed Necdet Sezer, who was the university president at that time, and currently serves as the university’s president, Prof. Said Celik and his assistants, Prof. Sayin Dalkiran, Prof. Osman Navzkaya and Prof. Cengiz Soykan, and the number of academics at the university is about 900
